BOTOX® and Juvéderm® are simple but effective cosmetic treatment options that can provide a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know.) Treatment can be performed during a brief office visit and patients can expect minimal recovery or downtime.
BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment is a revolutionary approach to reversing the affects of facial wrinkles. Crow’s feet, worry lines, and laugh lines can all be a thing of the past. These are referred to as dynamic wrinkle lines, all of which are easily treated through a process of cosmetic denervation.
BOTOX® Cosmetic injections are performed in the clinic and typically without anesthesia. Only a very small sting is felt when the injections are made. The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. Research has suggested, however, that long-term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment’s effect.
Prior to your treatment we will evaluate your medical and cosmetic treatment history, complete a facial examination, take facial photographs, mark out the planned injection sites, and address any questions or concerns that you may have. Patients over the age of 65 may not experience dramatic results as BOTOX® is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be used to repair sagging skin caused by aging.
Following treatment patients may experience slight bruising that will quickly fade. Maximum results from the treatment are not achieved until three to four days after the procedure. On occasion some touch up work is needed. Normal activities can be performed immediately after your appointment. Potential side effects include temporary weakness of nearby muscles or in rare cases an eyelid may droop. BOTOX® Cosmetic is reversible so any side effect is only a temporary condition. Dr. Conquest will explain all risks associated with this treatment at the time of your consultation.
Juvéderm® is an injectable gel dermal filler that can be placed underneath the skin to smooth away and, essentially, erase small folds and minor wrinkles that have formed around your nose and mouth. In addition to removing these unsightly wrinkles, Juvéderm® can also be used to give the lips a more youthful appearance. It is made from hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume.
Prior to your treatment we will evaluate your medical and cosmetic treatment history, complete a facial examination, take facial photographs, and address any questions or concerns that you may have. Dr. Conquest performs this procedure under topical and local anesthesia although other anesthesia modalities are available. In most cases, patients only need one treatment of Juvéderm® dermal filler to see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. On top of this, Juvéderm® is the only FDA-approved dermal filler that lasts up to one year with just a single injection. However, results may vary and correction is temporary.
Following treatment patients may experience temporary injections site reactions such as redness, tenderness, firmness, swelling, bruising, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection. Dr. Conquest will explain all risks associated with this treatment at the time of your consultation.
